Summary
GLABAT is an emerging Canadian-based R&D company being engaged in the development and commercialization of lithium solid-state batteries, in collaboration with the University of Western Ontario. We have immediate opening positions of Research Scientists to work on the development of lithium solid-state batteries. We are seeking for bright, enthusiastic, and self-motivated team players who are creative thinkers with excellent problem solving skills and can make an immediate and significant contribution to our R&D team. The positions will provide opportunities to collaborate with highly-talented people crossing GLABAT’s team and UWO’s team of materials, polymers, and chemistry scientists, engineers, and battery experts.
Qualifications
- Well qualified Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Physics, Engineering or related fields
- 5+ years’ experience in the field related with lithium-ion and/or lithium solid-state batteries; experience in battery manufacturing or in battery R&D is ideal
- Excellent understanding of lithium solid-state battery technology and familiarity with battery cell making and testing
- Strong hands-on experience in solid state electrolyte materials, designing, preparing, processing and testing
- Proficient in materials, surface/interface characterization techniques (i.e. electrochemical testing methods, EIS, XRD, TGA, SEM, EDX, XPS etc.)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience with statistical design of experiment (DoE) is a plus
Responsibilities
- Lead the work on the development of lithium solid-state batteries, including solid-state electrolyte/electrode design, formulation and processing, and cell-level design and fabrication
- Plan and execute experiments in a self-directed manner, and solve specific problems to improve solid-state battery performance
- Collect and analyze experimental data; draw conclusions and present results clearly
- Work collaboratively in the Glabat R&D team to scale-up solid-state battery for commercially viable
- Research scientists are required to keep updating new knowledge and new development world widely in the field of solid-state battery technology
